138.	Election of Chairman View the background to item 138. View the decision for item 138. Minutes: The Democratic Services, Scrutiny & Governance Manager invited nominations for the election of Chairman of the Private Hire/Hackney Carriage Regulatory Sub – Committee for this meeting only.

EXEMPT PARAGRAPH To consider passing the following resolution: “That under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item on the grounds that the item involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the said Act. Exemption Category: 1 Reason for Exemption: the report contains personal information about an individual. Public Interest Test: The public interest test has been considered and, in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption is considered to outweigh the public interest in disclosing the information.” Minutes: Considered – A proposed resolution to exclude members of the public from the meeting.

To consider the report of the Senior Licensing & Enforcement Officer (enclosed). Minutes: Considered – Report of the Senior Licensing & Enforcement Officer. The Senior Licensing and Enforcement Officer presented the report. The Appellant presented his case, and offered two letters of support to his application. Members of the Sub - Committee asked questions of the Appellant. There were no further questions from the Senior Licensing & Enforcement Officer or from the Appellant. The Sub – Committee retired from the meeting at 2.25pm to consider their decision. The Sub – Committee returned to the meeting at 2.30pm The Chairman announced the decision.
