Election of Chairman

Minutes:

The Clerk invited nominations for the election of Chairman for the Leicester Forest West Parish Meeting.

Matters arising from the Minutes

Minutes:

A47 Car Boot

 

A Parishioner expressed concerns about traffic leaving the site and suggested that for safety reasons a steward should be there before 11.00am to direct the traffic.

 

Cllr D Freer the operator of the car boot sale agreed that he would arrange for a steward to be on the site before 11.00am to direct traffic leaving the site.

Fosse Villages Neighbourhood Plan

 

The Chairman reported that he had attended quite a few meetings with Cllr M Wright in respect of the Fosse Villages Neighbourhood Plan.

 

The Chairman explained that the plan area comprised of 11 Parishes which are situated in the south – west part of Blaby District.

 

He informed the meeting that the Neighbourhood Plan would allow people who live, work and have a business in the area to have a say where they think new houses, businesses and shops should go  and what they look like.

 

The Neighbourhood Plan would be a Statutory Plan which meant once it had been finalised, it would be the starting point for deciding planning applications in the area.

 

The Chairman also informed the meeting that at the end of summer 2012, events would be held in each parish council area which would enable local people to contribute to ensure that  the Neighbourhood Plan would be genuinely community led.
