Election of Chairman

Minutes:

The Democratic Services Officer invited nominations for the election of Chairman of the Leicester Forest West Parish Meeting.

The minutes of the meeting held on  8 May 2018 ,as circulated, were approved  as a correct record.

Matters arising from the Minutes

Minutes:

Fosse Villages Neighbourhood Plan

 

The Chairman reported that the Fosse Villages Neighbourhood Plan had now been submitted for public consultation. The main intentions of the plan are supported.

 

National Rail Freight Interchange Proposal

 

Cllr Maggie Wright advised the meeting that another transport model had been proposed and that it was to come back in June 2019 for Formal Consultation.

 

Fly Tipping

 

Residents discussed the issue of fly tipping and Cllr Maggie Wright reported that there had been some very hefty fines issued by the Council in respect of this matter.

Planning Applications

 

The Chairman spoke about two planning applications at Oaklands for a change of use for 5 properties to be built.

 

Cllr Maggie Wright said that if the residents were concerned about any planning application she could call it in the Planning Committee.

 

 

Leader of the Council’s Annual Statement

 

Cllr Maggie Wright distributed the Leader of the Council’s Annual Statement, and spoke about some of the achievements the Council had made in the past twelve months and the  initiatives and plans for the future.

 

 

Notice Board

 

The Chairman enquired if there were any grants available for a notice board for LFW if an appropriate space  could be found to place one.

 

The Chairman said that she would ask at the Bulls Head, Hinckley Road, LFW if a notice board could be placed on their car park.

 

The Democratic Services Officer confirmed that she would find out if a grant was available.

 

The Chairman also thanked Sue Tilley for arranging the Christmas party.

 

The Chairman then spoke about the sad loss of the previous Chairman Mr M Birchall.
