Election of Chairman

The Democratic Services & Scrutiny Officer invited nominations for the election of a new Chairman of the Leicester Forest West Parish Meeting.

The minutes of the meeting held on 27 July 2022, as circulated, were approved as a correct record.

Matters arising from the Minutes

Minutes:

Planning Application 22/0112/FUL – 10 New Holiday Lodges and Change of use of land

 

The residents discussed the application in some detail regarding the change of use of land.

 

Cllr. Maggie Wright advised residents that this has been called in due to the high number of concerns raised by local residents and that she has contacted the Planning department to see if the application will be considered at Planning Committee in July 2023.

 

Red Light Pollution Concerns – Desford Crossroads

 

Residents raised that they are still concerned about the red-light pollution that is emitted throughout the night from the new building situated on the Desford Crossroads petrol station.

 

Cllr. Maggie Wright advised residents that after the previous meeting she had contacted Officers at Blaby District Council to raise concerns however no conditions are in place for the building. So lighting is permitted.

District Councillor Update

Minutes:

 

Cllr. Maggie Wright summarised County Council’s response to HNRFI and updated residents on County Council’s financial situation and its future impacts.

Any Other Business

The Chairman thanked everyone for attending and advised that she is intending to hold a Christmas meet up this year with further details to be circulated.
