The Democratic & Scrutiny Services Officer invited nominations for the election of Chairman of the Leicester Forest West Parish Meeting.

HNRFI

Cllr. Maggie Wright updated residents on the HNRFI application which was recently rejected by the Secretary of State.

Cllr. Maggie Wright explained that the time had passed for a Judicial Review to be submitted, however the applicant could potentially submit a new application.

Fosse Villages Shaping Our Future

Residents explained that they are waiting for the next Fosse Villages Shaping Our Future Meeting to be organised and explained that they look forward to covering the following at the next meeting:

·         Air Quality

·         Section 106 funding

·         Reviewing Drone Footage

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)

Cllr. Maggie Wright provided an update on the Local Government Reorganisation across the County, advising that 3 proposals have been submitted for Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland in March 2025.

Options that Blaby District Council considered:

·         A single county unitary for Leicestershire

·         Two unitary councils for North and South Leicestershire with Rutland in the South

·         Two unitary councils for North and South Leicestershire with Rutland in the North

·         Two unitary councils for East and West Leicestershire

Local Planning Applications

Residents discussed the following recent local planning applications:

·         38 houses on The Holt in Thurlaston.

·         New roundabout to be installed on Desford Crossroads.

·         Change of Use of Land, West of The White House, Kirby Muxloe. Residents raised Highway concerns about the new proposed site entrance from the A47.

The next meeting will be scheduled with consultation from the Chairman.
