Election of Chairman

Minutes:

The Democratic & Scrutiny Services Officer invited nominations for the election of Chairman of the Potters Marston Parish Meeting.

The minutes of the meeting held on 22 June 2023, as circulated, were approved as a correct record.

Matters arising from the Minutes

Minutes:

HNRFI

 

Cllr. Maggie Wright & Cllr. Luke Cousin provided the latest update on the HNRFI. The Examiner is due to complete the report by 12 June 2024 and that their recommendations will be considered by the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State will make the final decision on whether to approve or reject the scheme and will take the report into account but does not have to agree with the Examining Authority’s recommendation. The report won’t be published until the final decision is made. When this happens both the report and a letter explaining the Secretary of State’s decision will be published together. A decision is expected by 12 September 2024.

 

Cllr. Luke Cousin also made residents aware that Tritax have started discussions surrounding community funding opportunities and that he is currently working on adding the Chairman of the Potters Marston Parish Meeting to the invite list.

Any Other Business

Minutes:

Land West of Stoney Stanton

 

Cllr. Luke Cousin provided a development update to residents in relation to the forthcoming large development on the Land West of Stoney Stanton. He advised residents that he was due to attend a meeting with the developers to discuss their plans with the development of approximately 4,800 new homes.

Residents highlighted concerns surrounding increased general & construction traffic in the village should this development go ahead.

 

 

Water on Stanton Lane

 

Cllr. Maggie Wright advised residents that Severn Trent Waterhave now confirmed that the water is a natural spring. Cllr. Maggie Wright urged residents to take extra care during the winter months as this would become a slip hazard.

 

Road Sweeping

 

A resident raised concerns that they have not seen any road sweeping take place recently. Cllr. Neil Wright advised residents that he will look into this.

 

Stoney Stanton Highway Safety Concern

 

Residents raised concerns surrounding the safety of the roundabout situated outside the Co-op on Long Street. Councillors reassured residents that this has already been raised with the Highways authority.

 

District Councillor Update

 

Cllr. Neil Wright advised that himself and Cllr, Luke Cousin publish a monthly newsletter which is circulated to the Parish Meeting Chairman with monthly updates.
