Election of Chairman

Minutes:

The Democratic & Scrutiny Services Officer invited nominations for the election of Chairman of the Potters Marston Parish Meeting.

The minutes of the meeting held on 10 June 2024, as circulated, were approved as a correct record.

Matters arising from the Minutes

Cllr. Luke Cousin & Cllr. Neil Wright both explained that the time had passed for a Judicial Review to be submitted, however the applicant could potentially submit a new application.

Land West of Stoney Stanton

 

Cllr. Luke Cousin directed residents to the website below should they require any further information on the Land West of Stoney Stanton application.

Residents again highlighted concerns surrounding increased traffic and emissions in the village from the construction traffic of this forthcoming development.

 

Cllr. Neil Wright explained to residents that Blaby District Council has so many new houses to build each year to ensure that targets are met and that once the new Local Plan is adopted that future applications will be managed more efficiently.

 

Road Sweeping

 

Residents raised concerns in regard to the lack of road sweeping on the road from Croft Hill to Stoney Stanton.

 

Cllr. Neil Wright advised residents he will raise this again with the County Council.

 

Speeding Concerns

 

Residents raised speeding concerns from Croft Hill to Stoney Stanton.

 

Cllr. Neil Wright advised that this is a highway concern and should be reported via the police.

 

District Councillor Update

 

Cllr. Neil Wright advised that himself and Cllr Luke Cousin publish a monthly newsletter which is circulated to the Parish Meeting Chairman with monthly updates.

 

Cllr. Neil Wright and Cllr. Luke Cousin advised residents that they can log on and provide feedback on their thoughts of the proposed changes that are expected to happen in the next 2-3 years regarding Local Government Reorganisation.
